Bubble Bath

Travel Town

On Saturday, we treated the boys to Travel Town, a place where they've preserved all these old trains and cars.

Organization Efforts

I always say, there's nothing like visitors to get your house clean. Well, since we've been expecting Dad (Wendell) and Kathy to come stay with us for his surgery, I've been trying to create "a house of order." After visiting our local "Container Store," which is this totally awesome store dedicated to closet organization, I got quite depressed, because of how expensive it all was. They quoted me over $50 for a simple two shelf unit for our closet (and that was on sale!). The objective was to organize our tools so it wouldn't be dangerous/difficult to get our heavy toolboxes down.

I ended up going to Target instead, and for the same price bought shelves and bins to organize my toys, tools, and all of our art supplies. It has been a very wise purchase. Our storage spaces are so much more clean and functional.

Faith Is Like A Little Seed

Hunter was teaching Paulo about how "faith is like a little seed, if planted it will grow." And after planting some sprouted beans, we got on a roll and started planting a bunch of stuff. Check out our little garden.

Broccoli seedlings yesterday morning

The same broccoli seedlings this afternoon. Look at how much they've grown in only a day and a half.

(Top) Dwarf lemon tree; (Bottom) Hydrangea coming back to life after almost dying completely over the winter.

(Left) Jade plant which was shooting off a huge one on our apartment property; (Right) One of the sprouted beans.

Why I'm a Morning Person

I love waking up first thing in the morning to my precious boys in their cute pjs. I'm really disappointed these photos aren't in focus, but you get the jist of the cuteness, right?

Andre's Milestones

FYI, Andre's latest developments are:

He now loves baby food. Not so much meat (don't know what I'll do if he becomes vegetarian).
He gives me "five" when he finishes his food.
He calls his pacifier "bababa" (spoken in a whisper).
He has his first tooth coming through on bottom.
He sits up independently.
He walks wherever he wants in the walker thing (and goes for all the things he shouldn't, ie: toilet, plugs, important papers etc...keeps me on my toes).
He stands up well against the couch & coffee table (still loses balance though).
When his pacifier falls out, he picks it up, turns it the right way, and pops it right back in.
He rolls over very well (would have rolled right off the changing table if I weren't standing right there--and he's fast, too)

And yesterday he pooped--get this-- 7 times! Sorry if this is too much info. I thought it was rather extraordinary.

Pauloisms

I just had to record the funny things Paulo has been saying/singing lately:

"I'm trying to be like Jesus, I'm following in his driveways...Love one another as Jesus loves me.."
"If I but learn to do His will, I'll live with him want s'more gatas" (gatas means milk in Tagalog)
"Transformers, more than meets the eye. Transformers, birdies in da skies" (instead of "robots in disguise")

Paulo's nicknames for me: "Mabash" "Mumdee"

Paulo's nickname for soda/pop: "Hurt juice." And when I asked him if he wanted mint toothpaste (as opposed to watermelon) he said "No, I don't want mint; it hurts. I want watermelon."

The digestive system according to Paulo: mouth > tummy > leg > toes > bumbum

The following conversation happened a few days ago, first thing in the morning as soon as I walked into the boys' room. You should also note that Paulo has hugely been into Astroboy lately. He borrows each of the comic/novels one at a time from our library and watches the old movies. We are totally stoked for the new Astroboy film coming in October. Anyway, he now has an imaginary friend, Astroboy.

P: "Astroboy bumped his head. There's stars on it. At school. So, it's not funny."
Y: "Astroboy bumped his head? Poor thing. Where is he now?"
P: "In the chicken sink. He's too far away."
Y: "Kitchen...kitchen."
P: "Oh, I see...
Have to go to the chicken."
Y: "Kit-chen"
P: "Yup, that's right. Have to go to the chicken."

Haha! Kids say the darndest things.
